Adoration – Supporting Generative Choices
Nearby the hotel where I’m staying in the monastic compound is the Maya Devi temple. Built to honour the mother of the Buddha, it attracts many pilgrims. When I wander here at sunset, hundreds of men, women and children gather in circles, sharing communal meals they cook on fire from the ground. I smile widely, not caring who I am, knowing I am a part of something special.
When the time of Buddha’s birth drew close, Maya left Kapilavatthu, the King’s capital on a palanquin to her home as a child in Devadaha to give birth. When her palanquin passed Lumbini Grove, she climbed down reaching up to touch blossoms as her son was born and the two were bathed in a stream of water that fell from the sky. Buddha’s name, Siddharth means, “the accomplished goal.” Some say he was given this name by his father, who upon seeing him felt all his wishes had been fulfilled. Maya is said to have died seven days after his birth to return to the Tusita Heavens.
At the gathering outside her temple, it seems one elder woman is responsible for ladling a meal. Her clothes and eyes shine bright and I’m tempted to call her Goddess, yet, rather than surrendering to some holy light, I see she’s content to be led by stars, knowing that each is holy as they contribute their pure white essence. In so doing, she declares herself a font and in honouring her, I invite myself to a beauty of spirit nurtured by celebration.
Born to a people of the light, she is a living causal body of resonance, feeling joy, uprising in empathy that kingdoms may rise. Blessed by realms of the infinite, I ride upon her waves of sentient light.
Where men, women and children in a sacred field embody love, a light of joy brings a natural expansion and a kind of movement. I recognise that sitting here in our swollen circles, we are what we are, a glory of creation aware of itself. A greater eye has seen this moment. Amongst trees, wells for water, colour and humanity, nothing is missing and as a people begin to dance, I join them for I too am honour, a light of truth entering, inhabiting and releasing form, enjoying the glow, no longer significant.
Through embodying the void, accepting the physical, and meeting needs for sustenance in community, a dance of God-Goddess is revealed and I see a physical world, naturally created, that reflects divine glory.
I ride back to the hotel in a fading light, witnessing in the nearby bright fields an ancient ritual of men planting, women harvesting to prepare meals and honour their husbands, later in the evening to dance without reservation, as warm rich notes fill the room, held safe by the hearts of those who see them holy.
Falling in love with this tiny pilgrim town, I’m thinking about staying but unable to figure out the detail, I lie down to sleep, trying to remember any element that could help me rebuild this joy. My choice to hire a bike, a simplicity of trusting in community to bring the highest, and the way divine union keeps naturally arising with the people I meet when I choose myself, I’m beginning to see how a lack of self-consciousness and authenticity is naturally resonant to company I find fulfilling. I also notice that when I’m invited to join, I naturally invite more, bringing people together in an environment of what I hope to be unconditional acceptance, a haven for creation.
I remember the woman elder naturally touching on all points of light within a void and the easy confidence of the owner of the hotel in the Himalayas. With an experience of how the feminine can feel comfortable with the unknown, I remember the beauty of many Shiva statues, where the Shiva lingam, or masculine source of life portrays an aspect that is strong, creative and penetrative in a desire for beauty. In receptivity of a seed, I feel the Goddess choosing what creations to allow in alignment with universal lore, what projects to support and a clarity of freedom in generative creation.
Her beauty can be in discerning or recognising an aligned partner or an aligned vision where she may surrender herself completely, offering all she is to a culmination of light entering form.
As I surrender in an embodiment of Source heart balance, I see how the divine is always considering life. From here, as the bliss of Source and life experiencing a co-creative journey, it feels as though someone has handed me a treasure map to universal gold, for despite appearances, or the grasping of the mind, in bliss beauty is revealed, and I open myself beyond an Age to learn more than a planet, more than a galaxy and beyond, settling into balance as I activate adoration, limitation fading with a knowledge that Source has returned for me.
Once a choice to support infinite life has been made by any being, adoration qualities of Source come into play. For as I adore the heartfelt choices of humanity, feeling a glory brought about by unconditional love in action, an amplification occurs which eventually dissolves my concepts of light and dark altogether.
Here in making heartfelt choices and speaking them with clarity I find myself feeling deeply and bypassing many kinds of experiences that may not be useful.
Where adoration adds enthusiasm to my flow, I feel a great flow that honours all creation multiplied amplifying all that is required for each to access a way of living in joy and expressing truth, with love for every creature.
This mechanism of creation is referred to in the bible where it is said that God offers seeds to humanity, but it is up to humanity to caretake the seeds to bring bounty. So it is that humanity can live Source heart, a desire to care for the great good of life in alignment and enact that care via generative forces.
As the trusting feminine peaks worldwide, stories of the infinite spark, for with such powerful presence, light loves to find her in unique places. Trust is her masterpiece, for in her expansion not only does she learn to live beyond the kinds of energies that may attempt to subvert her or her community, bright eyes open to greet the eyes of Source, she can see her own magnificence. Goddess of the mystery, remind me to the Light that I Am, lead me by a wild fire of stars and teach my heart to shine beyond the steeple. My beloved shines with peace and I have gifted his fine hand my cherished pen, let life scribe out my fortune by his will and fill the galaxies with love. I am the corner of your ‘church’, the stone that kept your dead alive, returning power to the people
This exercise adds to the earlier one of Sacred Keys. For upon experiencing consistent soul expansion, I feel the adoration key brings a strength to a soul’s ability to access wisdom beyond polarity.
When I was shown that adoration was a key to anchoring my I Am presence and dissolving my experience of light and darkness, I tried it with enthusiasm. Adoring, in all the finer details, situations, nature, gifts, people and creatures around, I deliberately amplified adoration until it felt like it was moving through my heart in a rush. After a while, it felt that my judgement of what was ‘light’ and ‘dark’ dissolved and I saw my projections on a world replaced with a gentle light. From here events flowed much more easily.
Amongst the kin of Abraham I meet her, turning from illusions of control. I kneel amongst her silence with the seekers, weep until the silence steals my soul, smile at each sentence of her sadness, laugh until her sweetness makes me whole. A dream around the silence, nothing left, there’s nothing left, it seems I may have dreamed this face before, it seems I might have dreamed this grace before.

Remembering the future, a sun god walks on water. Raincloud pearls that mist a modern window. I drink for I shall kneel before this day. Warm the patient drum by shaded fireside, wade into a river fresh with jade. Lift high, the leather taut upon my senses as I thumb. Unhide the breath of ancients, strangely sweet, till common tubers raised by heat are shining out. A chalice on a rim of nature’s gifts, a mother’s beauty unafraid.
